Named after they/them pronouns often used by non-binary and gender non-conforming individuals, They NYC is a premium fashion brand owned by Platino. Consisting of 4 collections, updated yearly in June, there's designs for those out and proud and those that need-- or want, something more subtle. The variety in designs allows They to reach a wide audience, including those that just like the designs of our sleek items.
I'm the lead designer for They NYC, and have managed every product released for the brand. Inspiration comes from many places-- sometimes it can be Gilbert Baker's pride flag, other times Daniel Qaesar's progress pride flag. Other times, inspiration may come from specific identities, like the They Trans collection. Many of the recent designs, however, started as an idea that suddenly appeared.
